The Sojourner House Domestic Violence Shelter, a program of COMPASS Family and Community Services in Mahoning County Ohio has been serving survivors of domestic violence for 30 years! The shelter is a life line for women, men and their children fleeing violence in their homes. The financial cost to operate the shelter is immense. Sojourner House operates 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. Survivors often arrive with nothing but the clothes on their back and Sojourner House provides the essentials of food, clothing, and shelter. In addition, to providing safe, temporary housing, counseling, legal advocacy and case management services are offered to all survivors and there is never a fee.
